Item description : This is a very rare antique Hibachi in octagon made by Gorozaburo Kanaya who has been a metalworker family sine early 1600's authorized by the Tokugawa shogunate. Guessing from the description about the name of the place in the bottom, It was made between 1850's-1872 (Edo period) and 3rd item of 6 pieces. The shape and design of the item surely shows the prominent technique and artistic sense of Gorozaburo that are incomparable nowadays. Please enjoy this Japanese heritage luckily taken over from the past time. The name of Gorozaburo is written on the back of the lid with his stamp and carved in the bottom.
