Item description : This is a tasteful Kamakura-bori tary with an interesting carving design of Dharma. A Kamkurabori is originated back in 1100's Kamakura period. It was originally used for Buddhist altar or other fittings but it became popular to use for furnitures and dinning wares after a while. They used a cypress, a ginkgo tree in old days because of it sdurability but now use a Katsura tree grown in Hokkaido area. They are soft and strong enough against cracks. Please look at the hand carving designs on the top. Please add this interesting piece to your collection.
