Item description : This is a magnificent Rakuyaki tea bowl tiled Mt Fuji made by a famous Rakuyaki potter, Mr Shoraku Sasaki(1944-) who is 3rd successor of traditional Rakuyaki potter family in Kyoto. The original Rakuyaki Mt Fuji was made by Honnami Koetsu in Edo period and has been preserved currently in the Sanritsu museum in Nagano. This is a Utsushi item (made based on the original item with an official permission.) The title comes from Mt Fuji but at the same time it means that this is only one item made in public. The white on the tea bowl shows snow on the top of the Mt Fuji and the total posture surely reminds us the great Mt Fuji. Please get this wonderful piece to your collection at this opportunity. The name of the potter is stamped in the bottom and written on the original wooden box with his stamp. The Mei of Shofu (Wind-blow on the Pine tree) is provided on the back of the lid by Mr Soya Hisada (1925-) who is the modern tea master of Urasenke school.
