Name of item : Rare Nanban yaki Kogo of a temple with a Shishi (called seesaa, a imperial gurdian lion) in Ryukyu (old name of Okinawa prefectur) made by a famous artist Mr Isaku Nakagawa (1899-2000) who owned Shibana kiln in Okinawa. He was born in Kyoto and became an artist first. After that, he moved to USA and stayed for 10 years as a guest professor at State universities of Oriental arts. Then he returned to Japan and established his own kiln Chibana kiln in Okinawa at 1972 to start a Nanbanyaki which is originated in 1600's in Okinawa. Please enjoy his fantastic work still surviving into the present time. It must be a valuable item to add to your collection.
